Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka have officially been elected as president and vice president, after the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia announced the results of the recapitulation on Wednesday (20/3) night. Prabowo expressed his gratitude to the people who have exercised their right to vote in the 2024 election.
“We want to express our gratitude and highest appreciation to those who have exercised their right to vote in the 2024 election,” he said at a press conference at Kertanegara IV, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/3).
Prabowo also expressed his gratitude to the KPU and the Election Supervisory Board (DKPP) for the smooth implementation of the 2024 election and to the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police for ensuring that this year’s democratic party ran orderly and safely.
“On February 14, 2024, we experienced the smooth implementation of the election. On behalf of Prabowo-Gibran and the Coalition of Indonesia Rises, thank you to the KPU, DKPP and a great appreciation to the TNI-Polri for ensuring that the 2024 election ran very orderly, safely, and calmly,” he said.
Prabowo then thanked the Coalition of Indonesia Rises (KIM) that supported him, especially the chairmen and all members of political parties involved. In addition, Prabowo also thanked the National Campaign Team (TKN) and all supporting volunteers.
“We express our gratitude and appreciation to all chairmen and all members of all parties in KIM, then TKN, volunteers, mothers who are present here at Kertanegara IV,” Prabowo said.
Prabowo invited all Indonesian people to unite in bringing the country towards prosperity and justice. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the spirit of nationalism amidst differences.
“We invite all the people of Indonesia to look forward, unite, and work hand in hand. We must be peaceful, work together to bring Indonesia towards prosperity and justice,” Prabowo said.
“We must strengthen the spirit of nationalism, if there are differences among us, it is good. We respect differences. The election is over, all choices of the people must be respected,” he continued.
Finally, he reiterated that Prabowo-Gibran will be the president and vice president who will work as hard as possible for all Indonesian people. Prabowo said that they will prove this mandate by being leaders who truly serve the people.
“We have been chosen by the people, the people’s mandate is in our hands, Prabowo-Gibran will be the president and vice president of the government for all Indonesian people. For those who did not choose us, give us a chance. We will prove to be presidents and vice presidents who will work as hard as possible for all Indonesian people,” he concluded. (SENOPATI)
