Highlighting the pivotal role of energy independence in Indonesia’s quest for national sovereignty, President Prabowo announced plans to launch 55 new renewable energy projects, including geothermal power plants. These initiatives aim to provide clean, reliable, and efficient energy solutions to communities spread throughout the country’s vast archipelago.
Prabowo commended the collaborative efforts of various governmental bodies, regulatory agencies, and energy companies like Medco Energi and ExxonMobil for their support in Indonesia’s energy transition. While recognizing the country’s substantial reserves of oil and gas, he stressed the significance of embracing renewable energy, particularly solar power, to achieve sustainable self-sufficiency in energy production.
