Indonesia’s commitment to global peace and respect for international law was highlighted by President Prabowo in his address to the forum, as reported by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto. The President reiterated Indonesia’s support for global peace through multilateralism and adherence to international law, firmly rejecting war and the use of double standards in international affairs. The importance of upholding the principles of solidarity among developing nations, known as the “Bandung Spirit,” was underscored by President Prabowo, with a specific reference to the Palestinian issue. Indonesia’s first participation as a full member in the BRICS forum was warmly received by the host country, Brazil, which had already invoked the Bandung principles in its opening statement. Brazil expressed hope that BRICS could revive the Bandung legacy to further advance the interests of developing nations.
