Mengamankan Kemandirian Ekonomi Melalui Koperasi Desa Merah Putih

by

President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita vision, which aims to achieve true independence through economic self-reliance and equitable development, includes the establishment of Merah Putih Village Cooperatives (Kopdes Merah Putih). According to Fithra Faisal, a Senior Expert at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO) in Jakarta, the President’s initiatives align with the philosophy of building from the grassroots to attain economic equity and eliminate poverty. The launch of over 80,000 Kopdes Merah Putih cooperatives in Bentangan Village, Central Java, emphasizes that true independence extends beyond national symbols to encompass the well-being of the people. President Prabowo highlights that cooperatives are a collective effort to improve the quality of life for all individuals. These cooperatives, inspired by Nobel laureate Amartya Sen’s concept of development as freedom, are designed to foster inclusive economic growth and empower local communities. By providing storage facilities, cold storage options, and logistical support to farmers and fishers, Kopdes Merah Putih aims to increase the value and income of agricultural products. Moreover, these cooperatives are expected to create new job opportunities in rural areas, thus reducing youth migration to urban centers. Overall, Kopdes Merah Putih plays a crucial role in enhancing grassroots participation, boosting rural economies, and improving the quality of life for residents across Indonesia.
