Deputy for Dissemination and Media Affairs at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), Noudhy Valdryno, highlighted President Prabowo Subianto’s dedication to enhancing the role of Indonesian scientists on the global stage. President Prabowo envisions increased cooperation between Indonesian researchers and international scientists as a means to propel Indonesia towards becoming a developed nation. Valdryno emphasized the importance of scientists being more visible in the public sphere, emphasizing their crucial role in achieving the administration’s ambitious goal of 8 percent economic growth in the next five years. This focus on scientific progress is in line with the Asta Cita vision, specifically the pillar of strengthening human resource development and technological advancement. To support this vision, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) is organizing the 2025 Indonesian Science, Technology, and Industry Convention (KSTI) from August 7 to 9 at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in West Java. The convention aims to bring together Indonesia’s top scientific minds, especially in STEM fields, to collaborate on advancing the nation. With the theme “Science and Technology for Economic Growth and Equity,” KSTI 2025 serves as a platform for academia, industry, government, media, and civil society to work together towards accelerating Indonesia’s transformation into a high-value-added industrial economy. Minister Brian Yuliarto described the event as a strategic gathering that has attracted over 2,000 scientists from across the country.
